Synopsis

Raees (2017) is an Indian Hindi-language action crime film directed by Rahul Dholakia and released by the Red Chillies Entertainment and Excel Entertainment banners of Gauri Khan, Ritesh Sidhwani, and Farhan Akhtar. It stars Shah Rukh Khan, Mahira Khan, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. It has been said that Raees is based on the life of criminal Abdul Latif. The filmmakers disputed this, however.

This film will be released during India’s Republic Day weekend on January 25, 2017. It has generally received favorable feedback from reviewers. It was a box office achievement, becoming the most profitable 2017 Bollywood movie before Golmaal Again, Tiger Zinda Hai, and Hidden Superstar surpassed it. In addition, Raees was the most pilfered 2017 Hindi film. At the 63rd Filmfare Awards, the movie received five picks, including Best Actor for Khan. The film’s soundtrack has earned over 800 million YouTube views as well.

Raees’s plot is an unadulterated piece of fiction, according to the movie makers. It is not based, living or dead, on any person. The film is set against the backdrop of the Gujarat 1980s and tells the tale of a peddler whose company is defeated by an intense police officer (Nawazuddin Siddiqui).

In Raees, SRK assumes the job of a smuggler named ‘Raees,’ who has built up himself as Gujarat’s most merciless wrongdoing master at the pinnacle of the 1980′s. In Raees, the Pakistani on-screen character and former VJ, Mahira Khan, plays the adoration love of SRK.
